I have the basket filter as well but frankly the Green Mountain Sumatran and Dark Magic make a stronger and better cup than grinding my own Starbucks coffee. Not sure why! Plus, the difference in time/annoyance between the K-Cups and filling that darn basket and cleaning it is immense.

I love my Keurig coffee maker. I've had it long enough to wear out one basket and filter set and the piercing cone that comes with the maker is starting to show some wear due, I believe, to the intense heat. I never buy the K Cups anymore - I just grind my own. The basket and filter sets are available at Target and that allows me to use whatever beans and grind I want and allows for me to adjust the coffee to water ratio. The only downside to grinding your own is that you may have more open bags of beans than you can use.
